According to the Metro today (September 27) more than ten children a week are winning thousands of pounds in payouts from councils over accidents at school. The payouts which are funded entirely by the tax payer came to a total of £2.25million last year alone, after councils accepted liability for damages. Accidents ranging from, fingers trapped in doors to getting hit in the head with foam javelin are all cases that have seen payouts. Now, I don’t want to seem like a harsh older kill joy but...seriously? When I was at school I was made to stand up and clean myself down with little more than a bit of spit and elbow grease.
